'Lament' Augmented Reality

'Lament' is an ambitious new moving image project by Sean Vicary, interweaving site specific found objects, animation, poetry and music to explore a personal narrative of loss, longing and belonging in the Welsh borderlands. To complement the moving image work we have installed a series of animated site specific virtual objects that can be viewed on a smart phone by using the Layar augmented reality (AR) app.

These are located along the Stiperstones ridge, on the Shropshire / Powys border and can be found by taking the main path up the hill from the top car park, as shown on the map at the bottom of the page.

How to install the augmented reality

The AR content is delivered using the Layar augmented reality app - this is a free install for your Android or iOS (iPhone/iPad) device.

  1. Follow this link: Lament Augmented Reality Layer which will take you to the Lament summary page. Click the Download App button to take you to the correct app store page for your device.
  2. Install the app - please be aware that this will take a few minutes to download and install.
  3. Once the app has installed, re-visit this page (or rescan the QR code if that's how you got here) and click the blue button above.
